Calabar-NDDC Abandons world bank contract

The Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC Has abandoned the ongoing contract issued by world bank in 2016.

This work was ongoing for some months in Calabar, Cross River State, before its abandonment.

The State Government looked into the matter and asked that the refilling work on the ravine should commence but to no positive outcome.

Several houses and plots of land have been destroyed and people rendered homeless .because of the work.

The work was ongoing with several trucks, excavators, and Catapiller before an unusual seize from work.

since then, it has not been heard by any one living in that vecinity that work had commenced.

Neither have there heared anything from the company and Government to be precise.

The raining season has been the mode of contention of the people residing in that vicinity, because, more rain
more damages.

It was observed that presently very few trucks are parking on the site without anyone to maintain them.

The people are still anticipating the NDDC to commence work, but no one knows if it would commence.
