Hamas Threatens to Kill Hostages as Israel Intensifies Attack.

Gaza has a population of about 2.3 million people living there and about 80% of the residents depend on humanitarian aid to survive due to the ongoing hostilities with Israel. The Gaza Strip is on the brink of a new humanitarian crisis as Israel responds to the Hamas attacks with hundreds of strikes if humanitarian aid supplies are not allowed. The residents complained that aid has not reached the enclave since Saturday after the strike. The Israel Defence minister yesterday declared a “complete siege” on the territory – ordering the cut off of electricity, food, fuel, and water in the Gaza Strip. BBC footage shows deserted streets filled with rubbles of damaged buildings and housing units due to the Israeli military airstrikes. More than 500 people have died and 120, 000 displaced in the retaliatory attacks on Hamas from the Israeli military.
Yoav Gallant, Israel’s Defence Minister, on Monday through video message ordered a “complete siege” on Gaza. He said: “No electricity, no food, no water, no gas – it’s all closed. We are fighting animals and are acting accordingly.” he said, added. The Israeli Infrastructure Minister, immediately ordered the immediate cut-off of water supplies to Gaza, saying: “What was in the past will no longer be in the future.”
The spokesperson of al Qassam Brigade, the armed wing of Hamas, Abu Obaida said in a statement posted to al Qassam Brigades’ Telegram channel that they will execute the civilian hostages and broadcast it if Israel targets people in Gaza without warning. Abu Obaida said: “We declare that we will respond to any targeting of our people who are safe in their homes without warning, with the execution of our civilian hostages, and we will broadcast it with audio and video”. The Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) also called ‘Shiites’, declared support for Palestinians, in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine. Sheikh Sidi Sokoto in a statement, said: “We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied to a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. For more than three decades, the Islamic movement, under the leadership of his eminence, Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H), has been organizing programs and protests in support of the oppressed people of Palestine. Given the foregoing, we are urging all in Nigeria to break the deafening silence and raise voices to support the oppressed Palestinians”.
The US government maintained its support for Israel, according to the Secretary of the US Army, Christine Wormuth yesterday said more funds will be added from the congress to help the Defense Department to provide munitions to Israel, Christine said: “To be able to increase our capacity… to expand production, and then to also pay for the munitions themselves, we need additional support from Congress,” Wormuth said during a panel discussion at the annual meeting of the Association of the United States Army. Biden administration officials have said they’re unclear about what Congress could pass in terms of support for Israel without a sitting Speaker of the House.
The European Commission as the biggest donor for the Palestinians, has stopped Palestinians’ funding. Varhelyi said: “The foundations for peace, tolerance, and co-existence must now be addressed,” he continued: “Incitement to hatred, violence, and glorification of terror have poisoned the minds of too many,” he added. “We need action and we need it now.”
