Buhari Meets With Tripartite Commitee

President Mohammadu Buhari has eventually met with the tripartite committee with respect to the
N30,000 Minimum wage which was initially agreed upon by the Federal Government.

The meeting was held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, with the following individuals; the Chairperson of the tripartite committee, the Minister of labour and employment, the Head of Civil Service of the federation, NECA Director-General and the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

We had it that the Federal Government may demand changes in the earlier agreed N30,000 minimum wage.

We as well recall that the Nigerian Labour Congress decided on embarking on an indefinite strike due to the unacceptable proposal issued by the Federal Government on the N24,000 minimum wage and that of the Governors which is N22,500.

The Federal Government later agreed to go with the demands of the Nigeria Labour Congress which figures are N30,000.

With that, directives were given to Presidents and board member of affiliate unions, that they should be on standby in case of any further instruction from the Federal Government concerning the initially agreed N30,000 minimum wage.
