The Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, was mocked by the Italian outfit on TikTok after he missed a decisive penalty for Napoli penalty that could have earned the club the win in the 0-0 draw away at Bologna. The Nigerian international’s penalty-kick snub over Udinese match and his muted celebrations against Udinese and Leece when he scored as well deleting all but one picture relating to Napoli on his Instagram account which create tension among the fans.
The striker came on social media and declared his love to the Napoli quashing out the tussle involving him and Napoli. He said: “Coming to the City of Naples in 2020 was a wonderful decision for me. The People of Napoli have shown me so much love and kindness, and I will not allow anyone to come between us”.
“The passion of the People of Naples fuels my fire to always play with my heart and soul, and the love for the badge is unwavering as I wear it with pride”. The accusations against People of Naples are untrue. I have a lot of friends that are Napolitans and have become part of my family and everyday life. I appreciate Nigerians and everyone for leading their voices to support and reach out to me”.
“I’m forever grateful. Let’s support unity, respect and understanding. FORZA NAPOLI SEMPRE.”
Former Manchester City star, Mario Balotelli has come out on his social media page question the Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen after he left penalty duties due to controversy he had with Napoli. Osimhen, the Napoli’s penalty-kick taker, opted out from taking kick when his team was awarded a penalty in the match against Udinese. The Napoli hitman reason for his decision can be traced back to the tussle involving him and Napoli over TikTok videos after he missed a decisive penalty for Napoli which could have earned the club the win over Bologna.
In an interview with TV Play according to Owngoal Nigeria, the former liverpol striker Balotelli was annoyed with Osimhen’s decision to leave his penalty duties against Udinese. He said: “Osimhen is a friend of mine, I greet him. But in the penalty miss against Udinese (Calcio), he disappointed me a bit. He should have kicked and not Zielinski. “He is my friend but in the penalty against Udinese he disappointed me a little. He should have shot, not Zielinski. Victor has personality that cannot be denied. Napoli’s TikTok? It seems incomprehensible to me…” 👀. That video is meaningless. Victor has a personality, there’s no denying that. The goal he scores is complicated, don’t think it’s easy. Didn’t he rejoice? He did well, he copies me”.
