John Mikel Obi Set To Join Middlesbrough After Undergoing Medicals

Middlesbrough is about to sign John Mikel Obi the Nigerian Super Eagles captain on a short contract.

Mikel who is 31 years left the Chinese Super League side Tianjin Teda this month and is very much eager to return to Uk were his family has stayed since he moved to China.

On Tuesday, he underwent medicals and has agreed to join Middlesbrough on personal terms after speaking with Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis at Middlesbrough training ground last week.

Mikel who played for Chelsea football club before joining the Chinese league was among the Chelsea squad that won the 2012 Champions league against Bayern Munich.

While in Chelsea, he made a total of 249 Premier League appearances.

Meanwhile, Middlesborough is fifth in the Champions league table and are six points behind second-placed Norwich City.
