Tragedy as Unidentified Man Slumps and Dies

In the late hours of Tuesday in the Oke-Abetu of Abeokuta South Local government Area of Ogun State, an unidentified man in his late fifties slumped and died while walking along the roadsides.

A source from the community, who spoke to the Journalist on condition of anonymity said that a man who looked healthy was walking along the roadsides collapsed without colliding with any object and gave up to ghost immediately.

The source said: “The man was walking along the roadside when we noticed that he just slumped and died. He does not look like someone who is sick and he did not collide with anything that we may say is the cause of his death.”

The Vice-Principal of Academics of a school within the area where the incident happened who does not want his name to be mentioned, said that the school management and the community leaders where the incident occurred had contacted government authorities to remove the corpse of the man but the corpse is still here as am talking.

The Vice-Principal said: “We discovered the corpse yesterday when we saw people gathered around him.

We learnt that the man was walking by the roadside before he slumped and died immediately. The school management reached out to the community CDA and the police in Adatan.

He added “The Principal of our school in the company of the police took the corpse to Sacred Heart Hospital in Lantoro and State Hospital, Ijaiye to deposit the corpse at their morgue but they rejected it saying there was no space to accommodate it. As we speak the corpse has been returned back to the spot that he died.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and stated that the deceased identity is still unknown, but has asked the health officials to bury him.
“The Police don’t have information about him because he has no known family members. Health officials have been notified and they will bury him,” Odutola stated.
