Inec Denies Starting Fresh Voters Registration
The trending report on social media goes that “The Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) would begin a fresh registration of personal voters card (PVC) also that the commission has begun a policy to capture those individuals who haven’t partaken in the PVC registration exercise.
Recently, the Independence National Electoral Commission(INEC) has openly rebuked the recent insinuation on their tweeter handle. The Council made it convincing that the report is absolutely contrary.
Oluwale Osaze who is the commission’s director of public and voter registration, declare against the report on her statement, yesterday.
She emphasized that the CVR began earlier on April the 27th 2017 and had it fixed a closing date to be August 17, 2018, which was further extended by two weeks, to be its deadline.
Although numerable appeals were forwarded to the council, relating to the CVR extension but it derogates from the council and was regarded as impossible. She further explained that the commission was not by any means going to embark on any such exercise.
She Further maintains that they don’t intend embarking on and would not perform such activity.
