Google Risk Japan Anti-Trust Probe
The Japan Trade Commission on Monday in Tokyo disclosed that they are investigating Google to ascertain whether it violated any of their rules by asking for preferential treatment from smartphone manufacturers.
The Japan Trade Commission said that they suspect that Google these smartphone manufacturers to add the Google search app to the devices they manufacture.
The Japan Trade Commission have concluded seeking public input which they said will end on 22nd November 2023 as at the time of filing these report.
However, it is a well-known fact that Google signed an agreement with Android device manufacturers in Japan to exclude its rival or competitor search apps from the devices they manufacture.
The deal was for Google to share the profit generated from advertising with the Android smartphone manufacturers.
