According to reports making the rounds on social media, it states that the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commision EFCC invaded the house of the Chief Justice of the Federation (CJN) on Tuesday 15th January 2019.

Daily Post reported that it was true based on the statement by the former aviation minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria’ twitter page. When Top Trends Nigerian check the official twitter handled of Chief Femi Fani Kayode, which is @realFFK, we could not find any such statement. Maybe it must have been deleted.

In a counter statement to the reports, EFCC spokesman Mr. Tony Orilade told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that the reports are “Untrue and evil” and “is being spread by evil men and women to get evil results”

Also, the Senior Special Adviser to the CJN on media, Mr. Awassam Bassey described the reports as false.

“I really don’t know where they got the information from. So many media men were here earlier with cameras over the same report. But what I can tell you for now is that there was no such thing. It is false news”,

We will recall that on Monday which was 14th January 2019, the CJN was supposed to appear before the code of conduct tribunal sitting in Abuja but was absent. The CJN is facing six-count charges filed against based on his non-declaration of owning foreign bank accounts.

However, the case was adjourned for further hearing to 22nd January 2019.
