Donald Trump to abolish the right to citizenship for babies of non-citizens and unauthorised immigrants born in the United States

Donald Trump in an interview on Tuesday has stated that the idea of ending birthright citizenship has been approved by his counsel and plans are in place to proceed with the move, which certainly would stir controversy and most likely spark a court fight.

He said that the United States is the only country in the world where a person comes in and has a baby, and the baby is becomes a citizen of the United States with all of the benefits.

Trump described It as ridiculous and something that needed to end.

The practice was backed up by the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution which guarantees the right to citizenship for all born on U.S. soil to immigrant parents whether they are in the country legally or not.

According to the interview over 30 countries, most in the Western Hemisphere also provide birthright citizenship.

It was also highlighted that A change the constitution requires a two-thirds majority in Congress, but The president insisted that he could do it with an executive order.

He said that prior to this decision he had always been told that he needed a constitutional amendment. But he had discovered that he doesn’t ,  and that it can definitely be done with an Act of Congress.

Trump adds that as part of the planned process, It would happen with an executive order.

The comments Trump made were released a week before the highly-contested midterm elections, which could see to it that Democrats seize control of at least part of the Republican-held Congress.

Trump has tried to ensure that the issue of immigration is placed in the center and front of the elections.

He has long clamored for an end to birthright citizenship, as have many conservatives.
