Police arrest 13-year-old boy for killing bandits in Katsina

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested by Katsina State Police Command for killing two bandits.

The police revealed that the suspect, Abdulkarim Mati, was formally an errand boy to one of the leaders of bandits, Ardo Nashaware, who lived in a forest in Birnin Magaji, Zamfara State.

According to a report, Mati fled the forest after killing two of the bandits.

The Kaduna State Police Command spokesperson, Gambo Isa, confirmed the incident on Saturday. He disclosed that Police had arrested the suspect after he killed the bandits and escaped from the forest.

He also said that Mati confessed to having served the bandits after he was taken from his parents in a promise he would be rearing cows for them, but they thought him how to operate Ak-47 instead and was made to guide the kidnapped.

“The boy, who demonstrated skills in handling AK-47, also confessed to have been bullied by some elderly bandits, who provoked him, and as a result, picked an AK-47 rifle and shot dead two of the elderly bandits,” the Police spokesman, Gambo Isa said.
