No Casualties as Aircraft Crash-Lands at Ibadan Airport

A private aircraft with HS25B operated by Flint Aero narrowly escaped a tragedy as it crash-landed on the runway at Ibadan, Oyoo State Airport yesterday.

The flight departed from Abuja at 6:41 p.m. and was carrying several high-ranking government officials which one of them was, Adebayo Adelabu, the Minister of Power, and some of his aides aboard the aircraft.

 

It was learned that the crash-landing occurred at exactly 7:21 p.m., with 10 persons on board. The quick and efficient action approach ensured that all the passengers and crew members were safely evacuated. There were no fatalities, although the aircraft had visible significant damages.
Top trends gathered that the plane skidded off the runway even though the pilot had been cleared for an RNAV approach to Runway 22 of Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, Ibadan.
However, the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, NSIB, has commenced immediate investigations.

James Odaudu, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, NSIB, in a statement made available to the Journalists, confirmed the incidents.

He said: “Please, be informed that the NSIB has commenced an investigation into the cause.
“Our investigators are on site, and further information will be provided as soon as possible.”
