Just in: Head of Kidnapped Anambra lawmaker from Soludo’s constituency found

A member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Okechukwu Okoye representing Aguata constituency II which is also the constituency of the state governor Chukwuma Soludo was kidnapped on Sunday 14th May 2022 in the Aguata area of Anambra state by unidentified gunmen.

The black sienna bus belonging to the lawmaker was later discovered by the police after which the police launched a manhunt for the kidnappers in order to rescue the lawmaker.

On Friday while presenting the revised state budget to the Anambra legislature, the executive governor Chukwuma Soludo reminded the lawmakers that one of their colleagues was still in kidnappers’ custody while stressing that security agencies are working round the clock to secure his release.

Panic struck the town of Nnobi on Saturday 21st May 2022 as the head of the lawmaker was recovered at a motor park in Nnobi, Idemili south local government area of Anambra state.

The head was mounted at Chisco Park in Amichi community Nnobi without the body of the deceased in sight.

Also, Cyril Chiegboka the campaign director of the lawmaker who was kidnapped alongside Okoye Okechukwu on the same day has not been found, and no calls from the unidentified kidnappers.
So far, no suspects have been arrested for this crime.
