House of Reps Okays Development Commissions for South East and South West

Similar to the establishment of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the North East Development Commission (NEDC), the House of representative in their session on Tuesday the 12th of October 2021, has approved the creation of South East Development Commission (SEDC) and South West Development Commission (SWDC)

The SEDC and SWDC bill was passed into law with the aim of fast-tracking development within the South East and South West Geo-political zones.

In the same vein, the bill seeking for the creation of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) has passed second reading

We will recall that NDDC and NEDC were both created not only to fast track development of the two geo-political zones but also for remediation of the areas that have been plagued with many years of oil exploration and insurgency
