69 UTME Results withheld and 27,105 results to be screened again by JAMB

On Thursday, 26th May, The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board said 27,105 candidates who sat for the examination result would be screened again and that so far 69 results have been withheld.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Prof. Isiaq Oloyede, the Jamb registrar, had said the results would be screened by JAMB before they are released.

it was also noted that 1,761,338 Candidates registered for the examination according to the statistics provided by JAMB through their Twitter handle @JAMBHQ.

it was also recorded that out of the 1,761,338 who sat for the examination, only 1,671,203 results were released and 27,105 results would undergo additional screening.

The board pointed out that 69 results were withheld and 1,783 candidates would have to write the examination again at a later date due to biometric challenges.

Unlike other years, the 2022 UTME Examination results was a big success as reported by The Punch.

Regardless of the early difficulties such as increase in diesel cost, JAMB still worked with the Computer Based Training centers in obtaining diesel. The board also mentioned that it would make use of laptops afterwards.

It declared: “For the efficiency to carry out UTME at the various CBT based training center , JAMB has finished plans to make use of zero thin client computers for the conduct of its examination.”

“As a result,the main disadvantage of a zero thin client computer is that once the server’s memory is depleted or there is internet interruption, all the users connected are all affected at once.”

“This policy guidance is one of the measures being considered to address the problems of examination interruptions as a whole. As a result, the board, in deliberation of the huge advantages to candidates and centres alike is calling for its partnering centres to begin to plan for getting hold of mini PCs that are cheap to acquire, easy to operate, and more efficient in power consumption.”
