Results from APC governorship primaries for Nigeria 2023 general elections

LAGOS STATE
Governor Babajinde San woolu emerged winner and flag bearer of the APC governorship race.

 

This would be the second term of the incumbent governor if he wins in the general election of 2023.

 

GOMBE STATE
Incumbent governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya emerged as the party flag bearer for the 2023 general election.

 

OGUN STATE
Governor Dapo Abiodun beat five other aspirants- Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade, Biyi Otegbeye, Modele Sarafa-Yusuf, Owodunni Opayemi, and Remi Bakare gathering 1,168 votes.

 

1,170 accredited delegates voted in the primary with two invalid votes recorded.

 

The primary was held at Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, the state capital.

 

DELTA STATE
Senator Ovie Omo-Agege representing Delta central senatorial district emerged as the winner with 1,190 votes.

 

Senator Ovie is also the deputy president of the Nigerian Senate.

 

The primary was conducted at the Federal college of education, Asaba.

 

 

ZAMFARA STATE
Governor Bello Matawalle emerged as the winner of the primary with 733 votes.

 

A total of 735 votes were recorded with two invalid votes.

 

RIVERS STATE
Tonye Cole Patrick emerged as the winner of the party primary with 986 votes.

 

Other aspirants include Michael West-45, Bernard Mikko-2, Magnus Abe-1, Sokonte Davies- 49, Ojukoye- 190 votes.

 

 

ABIA STATE
High Chief Ikechi Emenike, an economist and Chief Executive/Chairman of Development Resources Limited emerged as the party flag bearer for the party with 672 votes.

 

Chief Emenike defeated Honorable Emeka Atuma who polled 150 votes.

 

Three of the aspirants walked out of the venue of the primary election.

 

EBONYI STATE
Hon. Ogbonna Nwifuru emerged as the winner defeating the other five aspirants with 743 votes.

 

The primary was held at Pa Oruta Ngele Township Stadium in Abakaliki.

 

 

YOBE STATE
Mai Mala Buni emerged as the ticket bearer having polled 805 votes out of the 890 votes cast.

 

KEBBI STATE
The national president of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Dr. Nasiru Idris won the governorship primary.

 

He polled 1,055 votes out of the 1,090 votes cast at the election.

 

Alhaji Abubakar Gari- Malam came second with 35 votes while Senate leader Dr. Yahaya Abdullahi scored zero votes.
