2023 Election:Tinubu’s Campaign List released, Prof. Yemi Osinbanjo missing

Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, the former governor of Lagos state and presidential flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Ahmed Bola Tinubu has released the names of members of his presidential council.

The list made up of 422 members was released on Friday by James Faleke, the Secretary of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).

 

President Muhammadu Buhari is the chairman of the presidential campaign council (PPC) while the Vice presidential candidate of the party doubles as the vice chairman of the council. The National Chairman of the APC serves as the deputy chairman 2 while Bola Ahmed Tinubu serves as the deputy chairman.

 

The list released is made up of several categories and features prominent members of the party, including serving and former governors, senators, and House of Representatives members.

 

The list however did not include the vice president of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbanjo; former speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; and former Secretary to the government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.

Recall that Dogara and Lawal were openly against the selection of former Borno state governor and Muslim, Kashim Shettima as running mate to Bola Tinubu.

 

The governor of Plateau state, Simon Lalong remained the director general of the campaign team. The list also features some Nollywood stars including Zack Orji, Gentle Jack, and Jide Kosoko under its Performing arts directorate.

 

Five former army generals were also on the list: Tukur Yusuf Buratai, Sadiq Gamba, Abayomi Olorunisakin, Ladan Yusuf, and Bassey Eteng. They fall under the Intelligence and security category.

Former minister of transportation and one of the key contenders during the party presidential primaries was listed as Special adviser on Infrastructure.  Adams Oshiomhole was named as deputy director of operations of the PCC and Hadiza Usman as deputy director of administration.

 

Other key directors on the list include Gbemisola Saraki- Labor, Festus Keyamo- public affairs, Boya Onanuga- Media and publicity, Wale Edun- finance, Femi Fani Kayode- New media, Mohammed Idris- strategic communications, Aminu Zaria- contact and mobilization, Bello Goronyo- Youth mobilization, Babatunde Fashola- election planning and monitoring, Gbemisola Saraki- Trade and economic, Hassan Liman- legal, Jubril Abdulmalik- intelligence and security, Kolade Alabi- local government, Musiliu Obanikoro- SDGs, Ade Omole- diaspora, Musa Babayo- policy and research and others.

 

Out of the four major frontline parties in the presidential race, the APC is the first party to release its list.
