Unknown Gunmen: Retired Top Civil Servant Kidnapped In Ekiti State

Mr. Israel Bamisaye, a retired chief pharmacist from the Ekiti State Ministry of Health was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on the evening of Wednesday at around 4 pm.

 

The gunmen who were reported to be seven in number kidnapped the victim on his farm located between Ero Dam and the Ekiti farm settlement at Orin Ekiti, Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti state.

 

The incident has thrown the town into panic with some residents fleeing the town.

A source from the village who spoke on anonymity said: “The gunmen earlier attacked a man identified as, Mr. Ojo within the vicinity of the farm where they picked up Bamisaye.

“They asked the man the whereabouts of some white men who were working at the farm settlement, but he told them he did not know where they were.

“They commanded him to lie face down. They ransacked his car that he parked nearby, and carted away with the money they found, N4500.

“They fired shots into the air terrifying people before they located the victim and whisked him away”.

 

The Police Public Relations Officer of Ekiti State Command, DSP Sunday Abutu is yet to respond to the incident.
However, the commander of Ekiti state Amotekun corps Brig Gen. Joe Akomolafe confirmed the incident noting that his men are working to secure the abductee.
