UNIJOS Lecturer Kidnapped In Plateau By Gunmen.

A University Of Jos Lecturer, Dr. Dan Ella has been kidnapped in his home at Haske Quarters in Lamingo, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

He was kidnapped by the masked gun men in the early hours of Wednesday with the Department Of Theater Arts of the institution.

The same Haske Quarters Dr. Ella was kidnapped, was the same area a professor and her husband were recently kidnapped and released later after a random was collected from their relations by the gunmen.

A source from the community, Philip Gyang confirmed the latest abduction .

According to Gyang, the kidnapers arrived at the community around 2 am ,went straight to his apartment, while shooting at the air and took him away after breaking his door. “They were shooting to avoid any attempt to rescue him by the bydwellers”,  he added .

The Chairman of the University of Jos branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Dr Lazarus Maigoro confirmed the abduction and also condemned the attack .

Kidnapping for a ransom is now a dirty business for the armed men who took the advantage of the insecurity in the country to run their business underground. Ransom is always expected to be paid to the kidnappers through a middleman , or in their own preferred way ,before the victim would be released.
