Owo Catholic Church Shooters apprehended

Nigeria as a whole has been in a state of mourning for the past 6 days owing to the demise of over 40 persons (which includes adults and children) in the open fire by unknown gunmen at the Catholic church, Owo, Ondo state.

The whole country has been in a state of pain and disappointment at the rate at which insecurity has gone overboard.
The incessant shooting at the Catholic Church has been on the lips of many Nigerians as testimonies from survivors abound.

In the early hours of this morning, it seemed luck had smiled on Owo and the victims of the shooting as we received news from Owo stating that the culprits have been caught. According to the respondent who sent in the video, the killers have been apprehended and are being held at the Owo’s palace whilst plans were being made to move the culprits from Owo to Akure.

It is plain pandemonium at the Owo’s palace as raging youths fill up the entire scene refusing allow the transfer of the culprits to Akure. The youths seem adamant to let the culprits go without having to take their toll on them.

So far, government officials have been somewhat silent over the issue as no official statement on the case has been given. Since the day the incident occurred, various security officials have been on the lookout for the perpetrators of the babaric crime and luckily after the tireless search they have been apprehended. We can only hope that adequate measures will be taken to give the culprits a befitting punishment for their crime.

Once again may the souls of those who lost their lives in the shooting spree rest in peace.

We will keep you posted on the details as the story unfolds.
