One Dies In Imo Police Attack.
Unknown gunmen shot in the air earlier today in different locations in Owerri, Imo State. Police summed their energies to resist the attackers, fondly known as unknown gunmen, who have carried several attacks on the formal calm city, last week.
The attack caused fear and people ran helter-skelter to save their lives. The town’s residents who were about to go to their different businesses and church went back home due to fear of being hit by stray bullets. One of the attackers was said to have been eliminated in the process, according to the state’s police spokesman, Bala Elkana.
Gunshots were heard from the World Bank Area, Amakohia –Akwakuma Area, Government House axis, Control Post Area, Wetheral, Ikenegbu, and Bank Road axis.
The incessant attacks on Police Headquarters in Imo State had led to the station of Policemen in Owerri, Imo State’s capital.
Imo netizens, who couldn’t bear the ruthless attacks again came on social media
to vent their grievances.
The Imo State Police spokesperson, Bala Elkana, confirmed the attack, claiming the attackers were resisted by the heavily armed security operatives. He also urged the state’s residents to go to their lawful business, that the heavy stationing of security men in Owerri, is to protect the lives and livelihood of the people.

Owerri.“Hoodlums masquerading as unknown gunmen attempted an attack on the Police Headquarters this morning but suffered a huge defeat. They made effort to access the Police Headquarters through Works Layout around Avan Nursery and Primary School but were vehemently repelled, “he also added.
This comes some days after Imo State’s spokesperson, Bala Elkana, disclosed the arrest of one
the Orji Divisional Police Headquarters attackers.
