Nobody Will Unseat Oshiomhole – Sen Omo Agege
Senator representing the Central Senatorial district of Delta State, Sen Ovie Omo-Agege has declared that nobody would unseat or remove Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as National Chairman of the APC, he said this would be resisted and the plot would fail woefully.
He also explained that Oshiomhole is fully supported by the President Muhammadu Buhari as well as the power brokers in the Presidency, he mentioned that a Reconciliation Committee comprising leaders of the party has been set up to dialogue with those still unhappy with the outcome of the primaries.
The Senator clarified the report making the rounds that members of the Party in the home base of Oshiomhole, the South-South, have commenced a search for a suitable replacement, and dismissed the move.
Meanwhile, while addressing journalists Alhaji Mumakai Unagha, ex-APC Presidential aspirant, confirmed the hunt for a better and more acceptable candidate to substitute Oshiomhole.
Unagha’s speech to the press went thus: “Gentlemen of the press, following the clarion call on the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Adams Oshomhole to resign, we, APC stakeholders, in the South-South have commenced search for his replacement.”
He said that Oshiomhole is no longer a saleable candidate and is now a bad product that cannot be hawked in the public market or even advertised.
He also spoke about not being sure as regards to whether the position of the National Chairman will still come from Edo State for now as the immediate former chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, as well as the current chairman, are all Edo State indigenes
He hinted the press that there were ongoing plans to ensure the emergence of a more mature and acceptable candidate with the ability to salvage the party as well as ensure its victory in the upcoming 2019 elections.
He also on behalf of the stakeholders went on to assure the APC faithful across the Nation that all hope was not lost yet as the Party would emerge stronger and deliver President Muhammadu Buhari in the forthcoming election.
He called on the National Chairman to respect the wishes of the people by resigning since the clarion calls is also a no-confidence vote on him.
He also addressed the President, Muhammadu Buhari urging him to save the situation by relieving the Chairman of the Party to enable him to face his corruption case or cases that are pending in courts.
He maintained that APC is a Party of integrity and genuine change.
On the contrary, Senator Omo-Agege said that he isn’t aware of any move to replace Oshiomhole and stated that even if there was it was going to be futile.
He confirmed that there are lots of agitations and allegations flowing from the primaries, and attributed it to mere challenges that are bound to happen in every big family and that they were only going to make the Party stronger.
He stated that a Reconciliation Committee is set to be put in place and leaders were already making efforts to reach out to those who are aggrieved, but made it clear that there was no legitimate move to unseat Adams Oshiomole. He debunked whatever rumors and insisted that the stakeholders of the party were satisfied with Oshiomole’s stewardship in all ramifications.
