The Ambode led Lagos State Administration on Thursday disclosed that it has established a special team to ensure efficient traffic compliance in the State and to particularly address the obvious and glaring disobedience to traffic rules by motorists.
This was disclosed in a press release signed by Mahmud Hassan the Public Affairs Officer for LASTMA.
This was disclosed by AIG Chris Olakpe (Rtd) the Chief Executive Officer of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, after a tour of the most traffic-prone areas of the State alongside other top hierarchy of the Agency, which included Mr. Olawale Musa the General Manager, stated that the development was part of efforts and a deliberate action to put an end to the menace of traffic gridlock across the state
He explained that the overall purpose was to maintain a physical presence and ensure strict compliance of traffic rules at the designated traffic trouble spots.
He said that we are optimistic and confident that the officers would put in their professionalism and wealth of experience to complement and assist the existing staff on ground, and made it quite clear that their primary responsibility is to ensure efficiency in traffic control and enforce compliance of traffic laws all over the state.
Olakpe further more noted that LASTMA would swiftly prosecute unrepentant motorists that consistently flout traffic laws and also assured road users of the agency’s total commitment in ensuring effective traffic control across Lagos state.
