The Nigerian Labour Congress has been agitating for an increase in the Minimum wage for Nigerian workers, it has been a tough battle.

While speaking in a live programme yesterday on channels tv, a special assistant to president Mohammadu Buhari (Femi Adesina) on media and publicity has said that though paying Nigerian workers thirty thousand Naira as minimum wage will be so good but the Nigerian Government may not be able to meet up with the demand for now.

According to Adesina, it is very difficult for the governors to pay #18.000 as minimum wage talk less of N30, 000 for the whole nation.

He noted that the federal government had proposed an increase of minimum wage from 18,000 to 24,000 but was rejected by the Nigerian Labor Congress(NLC).He advised the NLC to be considerate over this issue, knowing very well that Nigeria is owing a huge amount of money already.
