A popular Nigerian pastor, Glory Papaglo Igho, has warned his church members against committing  what he called an ‘unknown sin’ . He told them never to disobey the authority and shouldn’t be tempted to use the Virtual Private Network (VPN )to bypass the Twitter ban issued by the Federal Government.

What’s Virtual Private Network?

VPN as it is commonly known is a private server that helps its users to bypass any Internet blockade. It changes the users’ location by assigning a new location to the server of the users.

The recent Twitter ban has led to the wide usage  of the app in Nigeria to bypass the Federal Government ban .

In regard to this, the pastor tried to dissuade his church members from using the app to access Twitter.

“Any Christian who uses VPN to access Twitter in defiance of government, has sinned against God”,he said .

He also revealed on his last Facebook post that going against the constituted authority is wrong, and  to validate his point, by he quoted a scripture , Roman 13:1-2,and the verses have it ” Anyone who rebels against the authority is rebelling against God”.

“As a Christian, if u use VPN to access ur Twitter acct. after govt. ban on it… Just know u have sinned against God.Romans 13:1-2 Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. So anyone who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted. and they will be ni hed”, he wrote.
