HOW LIVERPOOL PLAYERS SURPRISED THE WORLD AGAINST PSG IN THE UCL

Before the game, the internet world predicted a heavy loss to Liverpool in the hands of heavyweight PSG, but the result said little to that expectation, the tempo of the game and the highlight of the style of play the Anfield faithful displayed against the French Giants was something unreal.

The likes of  Daniel Sturridge, Sadio Mane, James Milner, Gini Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson, and Robertson were the unsung heroes’ but they stole the show, covering plenty of kilometers the entire game and giving the PSG Stars plenty of problems in the middle of the park.

Daniel Sturridge was an unlikely starter ahead of Roberto Firmino, who suffered an eye injury in the game against Tottenham, but he(Sturridge) proved a point in his first start to a competitive game this season, putting the ball at the back of the net from a lovely cross from the left foot of Robertson, just after the half-hour mark, he played impressively well with his stats in the game, and being a big present in the whole position throughout the game, and also appeared in the 18 yard box when needed to cause more problems to the PSG Defenders.

Sadio Mane underlined his importance in the Liverpool squad for the 3rd year running, he mesmerized the PSG defense throughout the game, he continued causing troubles to them from the left flank until the final whistle. his form has made Liverpool fans to not be too wary of Mo Salah’s loss of form. one thing that can not be forgotten too early was that terrible body movement skill Mane showed to Neymar that sent him the wrong way to the corner flag.

James Milner on the other hand, was an engine room in Liverpool’s midfield trio last night, dazzling and turning, marking and covering, he played like a young lad, little will an amateur football lover know that he is up to 32, he was involved in almost everything that happened in the game, and was one of the best reasons why Liverpool nominated the midfield against PSG team.

Gini Wijnaldum was outstanding in the game, his pace, power, running ability, and his zeal going forward was a plus to Jurgen Klopp, he pushed through the PSG defense and was rewarded with a penalty which was carefully scored by Milner. Gini’s importance to Liverpool midfield has been written by his day-to-day performance.

what can you say about that Robertson’s wonderful cross that beautifully led on top of  Daniel Sturridge’s head for the opener? Robertson from the left fullback position has been swinging in a beautiful cross inside the dangerous areas and has been getting assists after assists when needed. what a bargain for $8 from Hull.
