ENYIMBA, ABIA WARRIORS, AND ABIA COMETS FC GET NEW BOARD MEMBERS

…Government tasks board members to be result-oriented.

Abia state government on Tuesday, October 16th, 2023, inaugurated the board members of the state-sponsored football clubs (Enyimba Fc, Abia Warriors Fc & Abia Comets Fc.

The event took place at the office of the commissioner, ministry of Sports & Youth Development Umuahia.

In an address, the commissioner for sports & youth development, Sir Nwaobilor Ananaba, said the board members were carefully picked by his excellency, Governor Alex Otti (OFR), based on their experience in football management.

He charged the board members to abide by the terms of their appointment, and work with the club chairmen closely through open and regular communication, bereft of conflicts, and ensure effective governance to achieve success in line with Governor Alex Otti’s desire of building a new Abia.

The high point of the event was the taking of the oath of office by the appointees and the signing of their appointment letters.

Those present at the event, include the deputy Chief of Staff and Special Adviser to the Governor on sports, Mr Chinedu Ekeke, Directors from the Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, friends, and well-wishers of the appointees.
