ASUU & ASUP Strike – The NANS’ Promise is Disastrous and Disappointing – Jasper
Let me quote Pythagoras, a reputable Greek Philosopher that most of us got acquainted with in elementary school. He is the originator of the Pythagoras Theorem.
He said and I quote
“The beginning of every government starts with the education of our youth.”
Mr. Danielson Bamidele Akpan, The President, National Association Of Nigerian Students(NANS), whom should be protecting our interest and be our Mouthpiece at the Federal Level, gave a blunder of a speech which we never agreed on.
ASUU is on a 75 days old nationwide strike and still counting, ASUP is approaching her One-month-old strike, meaning that Nigerian Students will have to wait for an indefinite period of time to return back to the Classroom.
While we agitate, Mr. Akpan(NANS President) went out of alignment, absolutely away from THE NEED ASSESSMENT, and he went politicking, giving Mr. President a life assurance that Nigeria Students are behind him, and will surely give him a 20million votes in the upcoming Presidential election.
What could now be said of Youths going for Political Space? Someone, please clarify me, The question comes, if Youths take the Spaces, what is the confidence that the world won’t experience the worst dilemma than the existing catastrophe!
It is very unfortunate that we have become what we condemn!.
