APC Governors tackle their National Leader

Politics in Nigeria has been bittersweet recently, as the struggle for power in the tiers of government hits Top Gear.

A new crisis is on cards in the office of Nigeria’s ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) with a number of at least four State Governors prepared for battle with their National Chairman of the said Party, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole.

Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara; Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo; Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna and Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun, among others, whose grievances rest on the mode of supposed primaries and automatic tickets issued to some serving senators, is believed to have either directly or through their surrogates attacked Mr. Oshiomhole.

It is reported that these governors have laid some accusations on the National Leadership of the Party for the imposition of candidates.

Most of them questioned the mode of primaries adopted for their different States by they Party headquarters.
On Tuesday, a list of ‘cleared’ aspirants was released in the Party Secretariat, in an annoying move to grant automatic tickets to some senators whom the party described as loyal servants, and this has really worsened the situation between Oshomole and these Governors.

However, this decision by the party affected cronies of Governors and Senators in the Party whose interested was believed to be neglected.

These Governors had insisted that the Party Primaries be held to determine the party’s flag-bearer in the 2019 Senatorial poll instead of the automatic endorsement of incumbent Senators.

APC as a party also have flaws in their Gubernatorial in States like Abia were PDP is heading, as Uche Ogah is a strong name to bear their flag though with close competition, and in Imo State, were their is a similar case.
