2,500 Inmates Are On Death Row In Nigeria – NPS

The Nigeria Prison Service has revealed that not less than 2,500 inmates are currently on death row in Nigeria. The revelation was made by the Public relation officer of the NPS, Mr Francis Enobore, in an interview with the news agency of Nigeria ( NAN) in Abuja yesterday.

Mr Enobore also appealed to the governors of different states in Nigeria to kindly intervene in the issue at hand as managing not less than 2, 500 inmates is too challenging.

He asked the governors to either sign their death warrant or commute their sentence to life imprisonment.
