2022 Internally Generated Revenue by states, FCT Released

The National Bureau of Statistics said on Monday said that the total of 1.93 trillion was generated so far in the 36 states of the federation, which also includes that of the Federal Capital Territory in the 2022 internally generated revenue(IGR).

The data stated Lagos, Rivers, and FCT top the list with N651.15 billion, N172.89 billion, and N124.4 billion, respectively while the least states on the list are Kebbi (N9.1 billion), Taraba (N10.2 billion), Yobe (N10.5bn).

The data gathered states that Rivers, Lagos, and FCT are on top of the list with a total of N172.89 billion, N651.15 billion, and N124.4 billion, respectively while Kebbi generated N9.1 billion and Taraba generated N10.2 billion followed by Yobe that generated N10.5billion and are ranked the least.

The NBS however, states that the taxes sub-category which were recorded in the period included Pay As Your Earn, stamp duties, direct assessment, road taxes, capital gain tax, withholding taxes, other taxes, and LGA’s revenue.

It said, “PAYE was the most contributing revenue source during the year, recorded 67.62 percent share to the total tax generated revenues nationwide. While capital gains tax was the least in the year under review with 0.24 percent share to total tax revenue”

“Oyo, Lagos, and Jigawa states were the three leading states with the highest LGA revenue reported during the year. The states recorded N11.83bn, N11.51bn, and N8.70bn respectively.”
