10 leaders of Idamu, River State kidnapped by Unknown Gunmen
Recently in Nigeria,10 community leaders of Idama, Akuku Toru local Government area, Rivers State, were kidnapped on Wednesday afternoon by Abonema’s waterways, We got it that two of the captives has been released.
The information was disclosed by a community source who said “the abductors, after collecting the sum of 3million naira ransom, let go the newly inaugurated Paramount Ruler of Idama alongside his cousin with which we identify as Chief Benibo.
“This heartless terrorist (kidnappers) could necessarily change their minds by the way. Each negotiation rose up to N5Million before now for all abductees.
They released two victims after collecting a ransom of 3Million naira and suddenly they are asking for another N7Million for the remaining victims”, the source said.
Mr. Nnamdi Omoni, Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, was yet to confirm the current development on the saga, but both freed captives were said to be on their way to Port Harcourt already.
The abduction victims were said to be returning to Abonema from neighboring Idama after a truce meeting over leadership tussle in the community wheer the armed men kidnapped them and moved them to an unkwon location.
