Police Confirms The Kidnapping of Anuoha, Wike’s Aide

Reports have emerged on the recent kidnapping of an aide to the Executive Governor of Rivers State.

The Police have also confirmed the reports of the kidnap of Dr. Anugbom Anuoha the Special Adviser to Governor Nyesom Wike, who the Governor of Rivers State.

On confirming the reports, the Deputy Superintendent of Police DSP Nnamdi Omoni, on Friday in Port Harcourt said the incident took place on Thursday around 8:30 pm at an unnamed hotel in Port Harcourt.

Speaking further he said
“This is unfortunate and as a command, we are touched by this development and will go all out to ensure his speedy and timely release”.
“The Commissioner of Police has given a marching order to all the Tactical Units, including the IGP Monitoring Unit, to work round the clock and ensure that the victim is released in record time.

“Contacts have been made with sister security agencies and other stakeholders in this direction,” the command’s spokesman said.

He also appealed to the public to provide the force with useful pieces of information that will assist them in bringing back the Anuoha safely

“The public is hereby assured that there is no cause for alarm as the already existing peace in the state will be sustained,” he said.
