Patrick Dempsey, named 2023’s Sexiest Man Alive

Patrick Dempsey, the Hollywood actor, has been announced by People Magazine as this year’s title holder for the Sexiest Man Alive.

The movie star became famous for the roles he played as Doctor Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd in one of the most popular TV shows of all time, “Grey’s Anatomy”.

The actor has featured in many Hollywood classics such as ‘Enchanted’ and ‘Made of Honour.’ Etc.
Reacting to the announcement, the 57-year-old movie star said he was “shocked” when he heard the declaration via the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” show on Tuesday night.

His words: “I was completely shocked, and then I started laughing, like, this is a joke, right? I’ve always been the bridesmaid!” he said. “I’d completely forgotten about it and never even contemplated being in this position. So my ego is good.”

The philanthropist, who doubled as the founder of the Dempsey Center, an organization for supporting cancer patients has expressed gratitude for the title, stressing that it gives him the zeal to do positive something.

Dempsey: “I’m glad it’s happening at this point in my life. It’s nice to have the recognition, and certainly, my ego takes a little bump, but it gives me the platform to use it for something positive,” he said.

However, the movie superstar was previously named the second Sexist Man Alive both in 2005 and 2006 before topping the list this year. He has joined the ranks of other heartthrobs like Marvel star Chris Evans, Paul Rudd, Michael B. Jordan, and several others who have held the title.
