Malco Vitamin B Complex Banned in Nigeria By NAFDAC

In a Statement on Wednesday in Abuja, The Director General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration

Prof. Mrs. Mojisola Adeyeye Announced the Banning of Malco Vitamin B Complex Injection.

 

Malco Vitamin B complex Injection is Manufactured by Shreechem Pharmaceuticals PVT Ltd, India.

 

The Product was banned due to contamination. After analysis by the World Health Organisation WHO, The drug was discovered to be unfit for human consumption according to Prof Mrs. Adeyeye.

 

She also the use of the drug could cause severe health damage. She further urged Healthcare providers and members of the public to stop using the drug.

 

She also directed all importers of the drug, wholesaler retailers to stop circulating and distributing the drug to the general public.

 

She urged anybody in possession of the drug to submit it to the nearest NAFDAC office or NAFDAC PRACOR 20543 toll-free

 

In the same measure, NAFDAC was also informed that Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZARMA) has instructed International Drug Company (IDC) Limited, Lusaka, Zambia, to recall all batches of the drug.

 

The Instruction is a Precautionary measure because of some particulate materials possibly a microbial growth was observed in the drug bottles
