Lagos Police Suspend Operation Velvet for One Month
The Lagos State Police Command, on Tuesday, has announced the quick suspension of the lately launched Operation Restore Sanity/Velvet for a maximum of one month to enable motorists and motorcyclists to regularise their documents.
The decision on suspension exercise was reached following the intervention of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode( present Lagos State Governor) and other officiating members of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Mr. Chike Oti, the Police Command, said in a statement to the newsmen, that it was however too quick to warn motorists that the “grace period should not be misinterpreted as a period of lawlessness on the city’s roads.
