Just In: Police nab “one chance” robbers, recover N400k in Anambra
On 30th of July 2019, one Nwanye Philomina who is from Akwuzu and aged 30years boarded a taxi at Nteje Boys High School bus stop in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The taxi reaching Nkwelle Ezunaka, the “one chance” syndicate having suspected that the victim had a lot of money with her, suddenly stopped and asked her to come down so they can adjust the seat.
Philomina oblivious of their plan came down from the car and as soon as she stepped down from the taxi, the robbers zoomed off with her bag containing four hundred thousand naira (N400,000).
Nwanye Philomina quickly raised alarm which attracted the attention of some individuals who pursued the hoodlums up to Nkwelle Community where the Police attached to 3-3 Divisino stopped them and arrested them.
The Suspects are Collins Okoli (male, 33 years, from Delta State), Friday Ebie ( male, 41 years, from Delta State), Cynthia Agu ( Female, 20 years, from Enugu State), Mary Andrew ( Female, 20 years, from Enugu State).
With the turn of events, the mob descended on the suspects but they were rescued by the Police.
Also the N400k was recovered from the suspect and the taxi was registered as an exhibit.
According to Haruna Muhammed the Police Public Relation Officer of Anambra State Police Command said the
the case is under investigation after which the suspects would be charged to court for prosecution.
