Just In: Olisa Metuh released from Kuje Prison

According to Osita Chidoka the Peoples Democratic Party adviser on Strategy and External Engagement, Olisa Metuh the former PDP publicity secretary who has been in jail for a long time were seen early Thursday walking out of the Kuje Prison in Abuja.

He hinted that Olisa Metu’s release from Kuje prison is was a Christmas eve gift.

Osita Metuh was jailed in what was seen as the Buhari led Government’s attack on the opposition party  PDP. The grounds on which Olisa Metuh was released is still sketchy as Osita Chidoka didn’t give many details.

but the court of appeal sitting in Abuja nullified the seven-year jail sentence handed down to Olisa Metuh last week.

He however considers Olisa Metuh’s release as a “.Christmas present to all those who persevered, believed and worked for Justice”.

Osita Metuh was accused of financial corruption on the famous Dansuki gate funds during the Goodluck Jonathan led administration.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned Olisa Metuh on seven counts charge of money laundering for allegedly receiving N400 million from the office of the national security adviser Sambo Dansuki.

He was found guilty of all charges on the 25th fo February 2020 and sentenced to seven years imprisonment
