Just In: NURTW Chieftain in Peace Keeping Meeting with Igbos at Oshodi
MC Olomo the Lagos State National Union of Road Transport Workers Chieftain held a meeting between the Igbos and Yoruba people of the Oshodi area of Lagos State.
In attendance to the meeting were APC Leaders, Security Operatives and other Stakeholders of both the Igbos and the Yorubas.
The Igbo Community of Oshodi commended MC Olomo for organizing the peace meeting and also promised to live in peace and unity with other ethnic groups and also vote for APC candidates.
We will recall that a misunderstanding arose between the Yorubas and the Igbos resident in Lagos after some polling
units that is Igbo dominated were destroyed by Yoruba thugs because of the assumption that the Igbos will not vote for the APC Presidential Candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.
The fracas led to the stoning of one Mr. Demola who is an Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) Leader, was also taken to the Hospital by the Igbos.
A day after the Mr. Demola stoning, Some Yoruba’s wanted to retaliate on the Igbos and even prevented them from accessing their shops at Oshodi market.
All this lead to the peacekeeping meeting that is organized by MC Olomo and also designed to entice the Igbos to
vote APC Candidates, which the Igbos have promised to do.
