The winger may be in search of regular football; though a loan move is more likely than a permanent transfer various options may be considered due to poor relationship with the Red-Devil boss. A return to former club Borussia Dortmund may not entirely ruled out. Sky Germany reported that: “Jadon Sancho is likely to leave Manchester United in January after a breakdown in relationship with manager Erik ten Hag” MEN Sport reports that: “the Englishman is open to a move in January should his exile from the squad continue. Dortmund and Barcelona have both been linked with his signature”.
Florian plettenberg also stated on his X account(formerly Twitter) that “Sancho is on the verge to leave Man-Utd, a loan move is more likely than a permanent at this stage, BVN coach Edin Terzic is in the regular contact with the winger as they appreciate each other very much. Nevertheless, a return to Dortmund in the winter is very unlikely but not 100% excluded for all involved”.
The La Liga giants Barcelona are reportedly showing interest in signing Manchester United duo forwards Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial in the January transfer window. Mundo Deportivo, reported that “Barca boss Xavi is interested in both Martial and Sancho and is expecting his club to be offered players in the winter who are out of favour with their current managers”. The Catalonians have utilized this strategy in the summer to sign Manchester City’s Joao Cancelo and Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix. Following the Catalonian’s current financial situation, this will be a good business. Sky Sports News stated that “united boss said that he did not select the winger in the squad for the defeat at Arsenal due to his performance in training”. The United boss appeared not having intention to settle with Sancho who has not featured for the club since August after declaring on social media that “boss’ criticism of his training standards were ‘untrue’ and he had been made “been a scapegoat for a long time” though the social media post has been deleted. Despite the efforts of the United Director of Football John Murtough and Chief Executive Richard Arnold tried to mediate, there were no compromises from either party.
