We will recall that President Muhammadu Buhari Presented his 2019 Budget to the National Assembly last year. During the process of the Budget presentation, the President was booed by lawmakers that were present at the event.
Senator Dino Melaye who is representing Kogi West Senatorial District in National Assembly, of recent has been in the hospital receiving treatment after collapsing in his house during the event that his house was laid siege by the Nigerian Police Force.
The reason for the siege is connected to the allegation that Senator Dino was involved in the murder of Sgt. Danjuma Saliu at Mopa Road in Kogi State.
Dino refused to present himself for trial which led to the siege by the Police but later gave himself up to the Police that laid siege at his Abuja resident.
The statement from his media aide reads as thus:
“The attention of Senator Dino Melaye has been drawn to a malicious reference to his person on the social media as one of the lawmakers who booed President Muhammadu Buhari during his 2019 Budget presentation before a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday, December 19, 2018.
“Before now, he (Melaye) had refused to refute the mischievous social media fabrication for what it is — a cheap lie — Senator Dino Melaye was not in the National Assembly that day.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Distinguished Senator Dino Melaye was absent at the televised 2019 budget presentation session and hereby challenges anyone with contrary proof to come forward with such.”
