Femi Gbajabiamila visits family of Newspaper Vendor shot by his security [Photos]
On Saturday, the speaker of the House of Representatives Hon Femi Gbajabiamila visited the family of Ifeanyi Okereke Elechi the newspaper vendor that was shot by the security aid attached to the speaker.
According to local reports, the convoy of the speaker was leaving the National Assembly when they ran into traffic.
the Police attached to Femi Gbajabiamila started shooting into the air to clear the traffic. Unknown to them, the bullet hit a roadside Newspaper vendor and he died instantly.
The Police officer that was responsible for the death of Ifeanyi Okereke was identified as Mr. Abdullahi M Hassan and the speaker Hon Femi Gbajabiamila said through his Twitter handle that the Police officer has been handed over to the Department of the State Security (DSS) for further investigation.

Femi Gbajabiamila went to condole with the family of Ifeanyi Okereke in the company of Benjamin Kalu the spokesperson of the house of representatives and some aids.
Upon arrival at the deceased house in Kwata village, Madall-Suleja of Niger State, the speaker met the wife of the deceased and the family. Also present at the house where members of the Association of Newspaper Distrubutors who was led by their President Benjamin Obute.
The wife of the deceased Ifeanyi Okereke is said to be nursing a 3weeks old baby. The speaker Hon Femi Gbajabiamila in a statement promised to take care of the family.
