Enyimba Economic City Project To Begin The First Quarter of 2019

Infrastructure and Concession Regulatory Commision (ICRC) has made it known that the proposed Enyimba Economic City project will kick off in the first quarter of 2019.

Its projected to attracted long-term and foreign investments which will inevitably integrate Nigerian businesses into the regional and global supply chain.

The project will sit on 9,803 Hectares of land that spans three Local Government in Abia State. The three Local Government are Ukwa East, Ukwa West, and Ugwunagbo.

The ICRC explained that the land is at the center of the five South Eastern States and Four South Southern States and has the potential of driving massive economic expansion of both the region and Nigeria

The project is expected to provide approximately 625,000 jobs, 300,000 urban housing units, over 2,000 industrial and business units with an annual value output of $5 billion.

It is also expected to carry an urban population of over 1.5 million people.

The city has Onne and Port Harcourt seaport close to it, including the proposed Akwa Ibom deep sea port. It also has the Owerri, Port Harcourt, and Uyo Airport close to it.
