Mexico qualified for the finals after defeating Jamaica 3 – 0 in the semi-finals.
Mexico defeated Panama 1 – 0 in the 88th minute after a goal from Santiago Gimenez. This makes it the 9th time Mexico has won the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
