BET Awards 2023: Burna Boy Loses Big
The 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards was held on Tuesday 3rd October at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center the Nigerian singer, Burna Boy has lost all of his seven nominations after the broadcast of the event on Tuesday night October 10, Kendrick Lamar is the biggest winner, swooping four prizes for the event.
Burna Boy disclosed during an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra that the late Indian rapper, Sidhu Moose Wala was his source of inspiration and Idol when he was “musically exhausted.”
Burna Boy lost the Hip Hop Artist of the Year, Lyricist of the Year, and Best Live Performer of the Year categories to Kendrick Lamar and American rapper. He lost Hustler of the Year to 50Cent, also the Best Collaboration of the Year to 21 Savage, Lil Durk and J. Cole’s ‘All My Life.’

Kendrick Lamar won every award he was nominated for, he won Hip Hop Artist of the Year, lyricist of the Year, and Best Live Performer and Video Director of the Year, alongside his collaborator Dave Free.
Black Sherif a Ghanaian Musician won the award for Best International Flow category defeating South Africa’s late AKA and K.O, France’s Gazo and Ninho, UK’s J Hus, Central Cee, and others.
