BBNAIJA: DAVIDO REACTS AS ILEBAYE WEARS THE CROWN
BBNaija All-Stars edition brought together a diverse group of former housemates, who had left their mark on previous editions of the show, to contest for the million(N120,000,000) ultimate prize. They were made up of about 20 housemates which include Pere, CeeC, Alex, Kiddwaya, Mercy, Tolanibaj, Angel, Neo, Cross, Seyi, Whitemoney, Uriel, Doyin, Princess, Soma, Ike, Adekunle, Frodd, Venita, and Ilebaye. Etc. In the show, some of the popular ex-housemates and fans’ favorites were not selected for the All-Stars edition such as Tacha, Laycon, Dorathy Bachor, Dianne Russet, Tobi Bakre, and a host of others. The show which lasted for about 72 days was full of twists, intrigues, and a new game tagged, ‘The Black Envelope game’, weekly wagers, Head of House Challenges, Arena Games, and other sponsored tasks.
ILebaye Odiniya is a Kogi-born Nigerian criminologist, reality TV star, entrepreneur, and fashion model, also known as Ilebaye BBN; who came into the spotlight in 2022 after appearing in BB Naija “Level Up” Season 7 reality show. She strategized on Big Brother Naija All Stars edition 2023 after she was eliminated from the “Level Up” season 7, three weeks later. Ilebaye did things differently as she stepped into Big Brother Naija All Stars edition 2023, she gathered new fans by creating controversial moves and giving back-to-back highlights even with her two strikes. This made Ilebaye remain on everyone’s lips from the beginning of the show till the end. ILebaye built hardcore fans over time. The 22-year-old model from Kogi state of Nigeria beat other top five finalists to emerge the winner of the N120 million grand prize and an SUV, among other rewards on Sunday, October 1, 2023, in the Big Brother Naija All-Stars edition. With 30.8% of the vote, Ilebaye easily beat Mercy Eke, who only garnered 23.4%, CeeC who received 23.41%, Adekunle who received 12.61%, 5.82%, and finally Cross with just 4.60%. Her victory shocked viewers because she had been seen as a dark horse/unlikely winner in the All-Stars season. Nevertheless, she was eliminated on her first outing in the “Level Up” season 7 reality show after three weeks. She took the highly coveted top spot at Sunday’s finale, leaving 2019 winner Mercy Eke, in the second position, Cynthia Nwadiora aka CeeC, who was the runner-up of the third season Double Wahala in 2018, came in as 3rd, Adekunle Olopad, was revealed by host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu came in as fourth on Sunday while Pere Egbi came in as 5th position, and Cross Okonkwo, was named as the 6th.
The Nigerian singer Davido who expressed his admiration for Ilebaye Odiniya for her latest victory, wrote on his X handle (formerly Twitter):”ILEBAYE ..I love a success story!”
