Again:Bandits Strike Kaduna State, Abduct Wife Of Military Officer And 6 Others

The Keke ‘A’ and Keke ‘B’ areas of the New Millennium city in Kaduna state were thrown into panic and tension as bandits attacked the areas on Tuesday night.

 

The wife of a military officer and six others were abducted in the raid. The kidnappers stormed Keke ‘A’ and Keke ‘B’ areas of the New Millennium City in Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna state.

 

 

The armed gunmen invaded the areas around 11.00 pm and carried out their operation for about an hour before security men came to the rescue.

 

Three victims as disclosed by a source who is a resident of the area were kidnapped at the Keke ‘A’ area. They gained entrance into the home of a military officer who was away and abducted his wife, and another man who happened to be the immediate neighbor of the officer.

 

The source said other residents of the area fled at the sound of gunshots. The source described the night as a night of horror’. The source also said that it seemed the target of the bandits was the big house belonging to a military officer who lived in the area. “ They also kidnapped an eight-year-old girl who is the daughter of the neighbor, but they eventually drooped the girl as the mother began to shout”. “It was at this point that they began to shoot sporadically into the air to scare the residents away from intervening”.

“Also, a man who was just returning from work, unfortunately, ran into the kidnappers and they picked him up”.

 

 

In Keke ‘B’ area, a source narrated his experience, “I just returned home and while I was having my bath, I began to hear gunshots. From the sound of the gunshots, you would know that the bandits were close enough. Fear gripped me, and I rushed out of the bathroom and turned off all the lights in my house. We later found out that a man, his wife, and two house girls were taken away by the bandits who struck the area”.

 

The Kaduna state police command is yet to react to the incident.
