2023 Ballon d’Or:‘Victor is Coming’ – Calenda
Nigerian international, Victor Osimhen was ranked 8th Best Player in the world at the 2023 Ballon d’Or in Paris, France yesterday.
The Napoli forward became one of the few Nigerians to be nominated for the Ballon d’Or and the 24-year-old made history as the first Nigerian to achieve this.
This is due to his impressive form for the Italian side Napoli, as they clinched the Serie A champion for the first time in 33 years and he won the ‘Pichichi’ the highest goal scorer prize last season.
However, the Napoli striker’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has hailed the striker for the remarkable Ballon d’Or achievement by finishing in eighth position in the 30-man shortlist.
The agent on Tuesday celebrated Victor Osimhen in a statement through his X account (formerly Twitter) channel.
The agent’s statement read: “8th in Ballon d’Or ranking!
“You made history and the future is yours…Victor is coming!!!
“Congrats @victorosimhen9,” he stated.
The Nigerian international finished above three other African players such as Mohamed Salah, Yassine Bounou, and Andre Onana in the following position: 11,13, and 23rd respectively.
